DESCRIPTION OF THE ENTIRE PURCHASING PROCESS

An order agreement is always made in the name of a natural person. The customer must either hold the right of burial or be authorised by the holder of the right of burial. The order agreement also contains the name of the estate. The price of a gravestone includes transportation and installation of the gravestone in a cemetery in Finland, and a two-year adjustment warranty. Check your parish’s gravestone instructions and regulations before choosing a gravestone.

2a. ORDER A GRAVESTONE DIRECTLY FROM OUR WEBSITE

You can order a gravestone directly from our website if the gravestone in question is directly available.

If you wish to order a gravestone directly, fill out the order form with your customer information, the information to be put onto the gravestone, and information about the cemetery. If you have a campaign code, you can use it when placing the order. The price of a gravestone includes transportation and installation of the gravestone in a cemetery in Finland, and a two-year adjustment warranty.

You will receive order confirmation and a draft of the gravestone for you to approve once your order has been received.
We will then obtain the required gravestone permits from the parish on your behalf.

2b. REQUEST A QUOTE FOR A GRAVESTONE

If you wish to request a quote, you can add your wishes concerning the gravestone model in question to the Request a quote form. Gravestone models can be customised with regard to stone size, choice of decoration, and the colour of text and decorations.

Once we receive your request, we will send a quote and a draft of the gravestone to the e-mail or postal address you provide. We will send order confirmation once you approve the quote. We will then obtain the required gravestone permits from the parish on your behalf.

3. GRAVESTONE DELIVERY AND INVOICING

We will agree with the parish on a date and time to install the gravestone. The gravestone will be delivered to the place of burial approximately 8 weeks after the parish approves the gravestone for installation. Gravestone installations usually take place when the ground is not frozen, from spring/summer. Gravestones come with a 2-year adjustment warranty valid from the date of installation.

We invoice for the order once the gravestone has been installed. No delivery or invoicing charges will be added to the invoice. It is also possible to receive the invoice before installation.

4. NOTICE OF INSTALLATION

We will notify you of the installation of the gravestone by letter, e-mail, or text message.

5. OUR PROMISE

You have chosen a gravestone that was professionally manufactured to a high-quality in Finland. If the delivered product differs from your order, taking the terms of delivery into consideration, or if your product is defective, we will replace it without charge. The customer has no right to return the product if the product is in accordance with the order.

GRAVESTONE DELIVERY TERMS

General terms of delivery for gravestones, approved by the Consumer Ombudsman and the Finnish National Stone Association 10.12.1999 | updated 17.5.2005

1. Method and time of delivery

The seller will deliver the gravestone to a place of burial indicated by the parish or equivalent authority at an agreed time, taking into consideration the parish’s regulations concerning delivery time.

2. Order approval and changes

If necessary, the seller will obtain approval from the parish or other equivalent authority for the grave marker. If the authority does not approve the ordered grave marker, the seller has the right to deliver another grave marker that is approved by the authority and the customer.

3. Tolerances for measurements, colour and other variations

Variations in colour, strips, spots, etc are characteristic to natural stone and do not make the product defective.
Unless otherwise agreed for the sale, the tolerances for grave markers are as follows:
+/- 10mm for stone thickness, +/- 15mm for the height and width of sawn and polished-edged stones, and +/- 35mm for the height and width tolerance for split-edged stones.

4. Complaints

The buyer must notify the seller of any defect within two (2) months of observing the defect or when the buyer should have observed the defect.

5. Right of ownership

The right of ownership to the grave marker specified in this agreement will transfer to the buyer once the sale price has been paid in full.

6. Force majeure

If the seller’s delivery is delayed due to force majeure such as war, embargo, natural disaster, general disruption to traffic or energy supply, fire, work stoppage, or other equivalently significant or unusual reason, the buyer will not be entitled to compensation or to cancel the sale.
If the grave marker cannot be installed at the site due to frozen ground, the buyer may cancel the sale if delivery does not take place within two months of the ground no longer being frozen, nevertheless taking parish regulations into account.

If the buyer’s payment is delayed or the sale is cancelled due to force majeure, the seller will not be entitled to compensation.

7. Penalty interest and debt collection costs

In accordance with the Interest Act, the seller has the right to charge penalty interest on overdue and late payments, as well as reasonable debt collection costs.

8. Resolution of disputes

If disputes cannot be resolved through mutual negotiations, the buyer can submit the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board. If disputes are resolved in a court of law, the complaint can also be filed in a court of first instance in the consumer’s domicile.
In addition to the terms outlined above, the following cancellation right and terms concerning the customer and payment will also be applied to the sale:

 

CANCELLATION RIGHT AND OTHER TERMS

A gravestone is an individual product made to order. For this reason, the buyer has no cancellation rights once it has approved the order confirmation. Manufacture of the gravestone will begin once the order has arrived. There are also no cancellation rights if the gravestone is ordered online. An order agreement is always made in the name of a natural person. The client must either hold the right of burial or be authorised by the holder. The order agreement also contains the name of the estate.
